Where are the Libraries

Where the Libraries Are is a static map showing the locations of all public libraries in the United States. The designers at Visual.ly (Rodney Vese Jr.) utilized a either a dot density or points on real locations to visualize the number of libraries. This is an interesting way of displaying locations of a large number of points, but also an illustration of how dot density can be perceived (i.e., New York = lots of libraries, Nevada = not a lot of libraries). Note however that this map does control for population density.
