City Symphonies

City Symphonies is a project by Mark McKeague where new sounds are given to automobiles. As he notes, “Electric cars are increasingly using synthesised sounds in order to mimic the recognisable noise of the internal combustion engine.” Based on this, he used a traffic simulation model, and combined this with the animation and design capabilities of Processing (www.processing.org), created this futuristic reinterpretation of the sounds of vehicular traffic.
