Cycling Frequency in England

This map, by the Guardian Data Blog, shows bicycling frequencies for each local authority in England. On clicking a certain local authority, a popup appears with a breakdown of cycling habits by percent. The map utilizes a blue choropleth to visualize trends at a more regional level, while the popup allows users to tease apart the data at a more local level. Further, users can input their address to see how much people cycle in their locality (if they can’t locate or recognize their local authority. Google maps were used to create this map with data stored in fusion tables.
