Changing Arctic Ice Levels

Today’s map comes from the Guardian, and is a very simple interactive visual of changing arctic ice cap sizes from 1979 to 2012. The tool works by tracking the mouse position on the map area, where a slide runs over the screen. When sliding across the map from left to right, the map from 2012 is revealed on the other side. This tool was made using Adobe Flash.
