Thunderclap is a tool for creating awareness through social media. The application works much like crowd funding applications, or online petitions with a twist. Instead of asking users to spread a message through their respective social media platforms, it asks users to support a cause. The application generates a message (a tweet, perhaps), and after enough support has been collected, the message is sent out automatically and simultaneously by from each registered supporter, generating a wave of awareness. The application is free to use and has been used by a number of big names such as the White House, the UN and Firefox.
